Delete your account
You can delete your GemFlare account yourself, at any time, without asking us. It happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no review.
In the Android app
- Open GemFlare.
- Tap your photo, then Settings.
- Scroll to Delete my account.
- Type your phone number, with its country code, to confirm.
In a browser
- Open gemflare.com/web and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm with your phone number.
Typing the number is a deliberate speed bump. Deletion cannot be undone, so we would rather ask twice than erase an account on a stray tap.
If you cannot sign in
Write to support@gemflare.com from any address, and say which phone number the account uses. We will verify that the number is yours before we delete anything — otherwise anyone could erase anyone else's account — and we answer within 30 days.
What is erased
- Your phone number, display name and @username.
- Your profile photo.
- Any linked Google or Facebook sign-in.
- Your messages, the messages waiting to reach you, and any reactions on them.
- Your contacts, blocked list and muted conversations.
- Any reports you filed, and any filed about you.
- Every signed-in device and session, and the push token that rings your phone.
- Any active subscription is cancelled, so nothing can be charged afterwards.
Your phone number and @username are released, so you can sign up again later as a genuinely new account if you want to.
What remains, and why
A call has two people in it. The bare record that a call happened — the two account ids, the time, and how long it lasted — stays in the other person's history, with nothing personal of yours attached to it. Nobody gets to delete someone else's records, so we do not let one person erase the other's history. That record carries no name, no number and no photo.
We never store the calls themselves. Audio and video are forwarded live and are gone the moment a call ends, whether or not you delete your account.
